What is methylated spirit?


Methylated spirits also known as Denatured alcohol or wood spirit or denatured rectified spirit.

Methylated spirits contains 90% alcohol, 9% methanol and pyridine, CuSO4 etc. The additives in ethanol make it poisonous, and foul-smelling so avoid the consumption of alcohol.

To avoid the high tax and regulations on drinking alcohol.

Denatured alcohol was formed for industrial, disinfecting, and non-drinking uses and laboratory.

Uses of Methylated spirits :

Methylated spirit is used as fuel for an alcohol burner and as a solvent in the chemical reactions, paints, and varnish industries.

Denatured alcohol is also used as disinfectant, sterilize medical equipment, as a window cleaner, and there are many more uses.
